We arrange the insurance and funding that often decide whether a strong case runs — and on what terms. For claimants, defendants, law firms, insolvency practitioners and funders.

A dispute creates financial exposure long before it is decided: the other side's costs if the case is lost, the client's own spend, the fees lawyers have deferred, and the risk that a judgment is lost on appeal.
Much of that exposure can be insured. We assess the case, take it to the specialist insurance market, negotiate the terms and stay with the policy for the life of the case.
We are brokers, not insurers. We do not carry the risk ourselves — we place it with specialist insurers suited to the case.

Covers the other side's legal costs if the case is lost. Premiums can often be deferred and made contingent on winning. The policy can also stand as security for costs.
For law firms, counsel and insolvency practitioners on conditional or deferred fees. If the case fails, the time already invested is covered.
Reimburses the client's own spend on a losing case — experts, court and tribunal fees, and other disbursements.
Own-side costs cover, one level up. It reimburses whoever funded the case — funder, firm or office-holder — if the case fails.
For a party that has won, while the appeal runs. Covers the risk that the judgment or award is overturned or reduced, so the win can be distributed, borrowed against or monetised without waiting.
For a defendant facing a potentially very large award. Caps what is payable above an agreed amount if an adverse judgment becomes final.
We also arrange cover for office-holders and law firms operating scheme arrangements, as well as arbitration award default insurance.
Pursuing office-holder claims with the costs risk insured.
Insuring their clients' cases, and their own fees on conditional arrangements.
Protecting deployed capital and strengthening the cases they back.
Claimants and defendants in commercial disputes and arbitration.
Usually introduced by their solicitor.
Typical matters: commercial disputes · international arbitration · professional negligence · insolvency and asset recovery · group actions
Claim, value, jurisdiction, stage and legal team. A merits view from counsel helps.
Insurability, likely market appetite and the structures that fit.
With your legal team's sign-off, we take the case to specialist insurers, and to funders where needed, under confidentiality.
We compare terms, recommend a course and put the cover in place.
Changes, notifications and support if a claim is made.
The earlier we are involved, the more options there are.
Strong claims often stall because the client cannot carry the cost or the risk. Third-party funders provide the capital to run the case, in return for a share of any recovery.
Insurance makes that capital work harder. An After the Event policy increases the funder's confidence in the case, and insured fees and disbursements make a case easier to fund.
We arrange both, so insurance and funding are structured together from the start.

An early conversation is the best place to start. Tell us the claim, its value, the jurisdiction and the stage it has reached, and we will come back with an initial view.
